ABOARD COSTA PACIFICA IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN – This is our sixth and final day at sea as we cross the Atlantic from St. Lucia to the Canary Islands. Experienced rough seas for the first time, which made me feel lethargic later in the day. But earlier I got a ton of blogging and trip planning work accomplished.

Got up at 1:30 a.m. aboard Costa Pacifica. Ugh, slept really long again (just shy of 12 hours). Read today’s cruise newsletter and the Hungary guidebook, then went up to the Deck 4 conference room for breakfast and watching “NCIS.”

Next I worked on my calendar and French Polynesia blog. It’s the first chance I’ve had on this cruise to work on my blog. There’s just so much planning work to do when traveling for 11 weeks through 18 different countries! It’s hard to find time to blog.

Sorted recent photos, updated my sleep log, and continued working on the F.P. blog. Took a break at 7:19 a.m. to head up top for watch sunrise.

Continued F.P. blog writing, then ate my lunch during breakfast service in the New York New York dining room.

Set aside my blog to continue planning for the Danube River cruise Mom and I will take later this month from Germany to Hungary. Then switched to Romania and Bulgaria planning (I’ll be there, my final two countries in Europe, after Hungary).

At 11 a.m., we once again changed time one hour forward from GMT to GMT+1 (Western Europe Summer Time). Reset my watch to noon.

Returned to my cabin at 1:03 p.m. feeling sleepy. Laid in bed and watched “NCIS.” Definitely need a rest after all this planning and blogging work.

Left my stateroom at 2:27 to take my dinner at the lunch buffet. I took a motion-sickness pill as we are experiencing some rough seas for the first time. The past five days at sea have been smooth sailing.

Early bed prep after dinner due to fatigue. Climbed in bed at 3:23 to read more of the Hungary guidebook and watch another episode of “NCIS.” Bed at 4:34 p.m.

Tomorrow we arrive at Tenerife Island. Mom and I were there last November during our MSC Fantasia trans-Atlantic cruise from Italy to Brazil, so I won’t be doing any shore excursions. Plan to find a WiFi hotspot and get busy booking hotels and other arrangements for my next several trips. I’m not expecting to be back in the USA until mid-June.
