The father of a 4-year-old autistic boy suing the Transportation Security Administration in the Supreme Court to enjoin enforcement of the Federal Transportation Mask Mandate appeared on “The Ingraham Angle” Monday night to discuss the lawsuit and an incident in late October when he and his son were denied boarding by Frontier Airlines because the boy medically can’t wear a face mask.
Michael Seklecki Sr. discussed his lawsuit, on behalf of himself and his son Michael Jr., that is now in the hands of the chief justice of the United States after the Supreme Court docketed Dec. 2 an emergency application to stop TSA from enforcing the requirement that all passengers and workers in the nation’s entire transportation workers wear a face covering.
He also talked about his plans to sue Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines, which harassed the family in late October over Michael Jr.’s mask exemption, almost causing them to miss their flight. Seklecki said Frontier has banned him and his son simply because Michael Jr., who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, can’t tolerate wearing a mask.
“He’s been banned for life on Frontier Airlines. … I was specifically banned as well. … Incredible,” he said in an exclusive interview with Laura Ingraham. Seklecki also slammed “appalling and condescending” treatment from a Frontier supervisor at Orlando International Airport when he explained the situation and provided his son’s doctor’s note exempting him from mask requirements.
The Sekleckis must fly often from Orlando, Florida, to Boston, Massachusetts, for Michael Jr.’s specialized medical care at Boston Children’s Hospital.
“It’s totally just mind-blowing to be refused travel for medical care,” Seklecki said.
“This is sick. This is child abuse,” Ingraham responded, saying companies are “running scared” from potential federal liability for not complying with “tyrannical” COVID-19 mandates.
The Sekleckis’ case is at the Supreme Court on an emergency appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Also part of the lawsuit is Lucas Wall, who’s litigating two other cases against the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s mask order and versus seven airlines (including Frontier and Spirit) for illegally denying mask exemptions, discriminating against Americans with disabilities.
