At Sea Day #1: A Sunny Day to Get Stuff
Done & Exercise aboard Costa Pacifica
April 1, 2019
ABOARD COSTA PACIFICA IN THE NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN – I enjoyed a gorgeous blue-sky day reading, jogging, and working during the first of six days at sea we’ll be crossing the ocean from St. Lucia to Tenerife Island, Canary Islands, Spain.
Got up at 12:36 p.m. aboard Costa Pacifica. Today is our first day at sea on our Atlantic Ocean crossing after departing La Romana, Dominican Republic, a week ago and stopping at six Caribbean islands. This is a 17-night voyage from La Romana to Barcelona, Spain.
While I slept, we had our first time change: one hour forward from Atlantic Standard Time (GMT-4) to GMT-3. So the time flipped ahead to 1:36 p.m.
Finished a TV show, then went up to the lunch buffet at 2:14. Next I went to Deck 13 to read travel planning information for my upcoming visit to Romania and Bulgaria.
It’s nice to have some down time after flying to the Dominican Republic and then going on shore excursions six days in a row.
Changed clothes and returned to Deck 13 at 6:40 to jog for 41½ minutes, enjoying a pretty sunset.
I’m trying to start jogging again. Been only walking lately. I feel so fat and out of shape. Ugh. Really depressing. I used to run five miles several times a week, but now things are so bad I can only run 10 minutes at a time, then have to walk for 10 minutes and repeat.
Showered, tidied and organized my cabin, dinner buffet, worked on computer stuff, sleep log, and bed prep. Watched another episode of “NCIS” on my laptop before bed at 2:16 a.m.
